There was a small hole punched in the side, and multiple gouges to repair. Boston Whalers are foam filled behind the fiberglass, which distributed a lot of the shock thru the entire side upon impact. This made the damage less severe than expected. Also for this situation it was lucky that the boat was not tied down in the back and was able to shift sideways on the trailer (we do not endorse not tying down your boat). The hole was repaired with bi-axle fabric and west system epoxy. The gel coat was then filled, faired, re-sprayed, and finished.
